Retailers operating large showrooms or warehouses will be interested by the wireless EPoS solution that Cybertill, who are exhibiting in Hall 9 Stand K54 at Spring Fair, can provide retailers.

The company will be revealing details of the work it does with two-store furniture retailer, Lincoln Furniture Warehouse, and demonstrating the efficiency and affordability of wireless operations as an integral part of a multi-channel retail system for businesses of all sizes.

Having worked with a manual solution for a number of years, Lincoln Furniture Warehouse (LFW) decided it needed a real-time stock management system. Its goal was to enable its sales people to move around within its showroom locations and sell the same display stock, without having to finalise transactions and take payment until they returned to the till-point.

At the end of its system evaluation, LFW felt that Cybertill was the only solution on the market able to cater for its requirements. Available on a real-time, ‘Software as a Service’ (SaaS) basis, Cybertill’s EPoS solution makes client data accessible via a broadband virtual private network, thereby relieving clients of the headache and cost of managing inhouse servers and IT staff and providing automatic system updates.

In addition to installing its core elements for point-of-sale and back-office processing, transparently integrating stores and the client’s transactional web site, Cybertill has engineered this to run as a wireless application.

Today, all LFW’s sales staff can move freely around the large warehouse showroom at Maidstone and the smaller shop in Tunbridge Wells’ The Pantiles, both of which have been specified for wireless connectivity, engaging with customers.
They carry hand-held tablet PCs and are able to note down customer details, check stock, place orders and arrange delivery. They then return to the fixed till-points to finalise transactions and take payment.

Within the first three months of using its new system, LFW saw improved stock management. It also built a customer database, using inbuilt CRM functions to communicate with customers and promote itself in a way not previously possible.

The Cybertill solution has enabled LFW to take advantage of leading-edge technology without the obstacles of technical complexity and affordability. LFW has been able to streamline its operations, increase staff productivity and be attentive to its customers.

As LFW grows its business, it is finding it a seamless process to expand the Cybertill system to manage multi-store operations. It is taking full advantage of Cybertill’s real-time data availability to run a dynamic, modern business.
