Founder & CEO, Ian Tomlinson, becomes executive chairman. Finance director, James Ward, is new managing director.

EPoS & e-commerce technology innovator, Cybertill, has announced changes to the composition of its executive team.

In 2001, Cybertill was created from the vision of Ian Tomlinson. With Ian as managing director, the business has since grown to become a leading supplier in the competitive field of retail technology, pioneering EPoS as a managed ‘Software as a Service (SaaS)’, now delivered as ‘cloud computing’, to UK and international retailers.

Ian has recently moved to the role of executive chairman, and has appointed James Ward as the company’s managing director. He explains: “I’ve wanted to make this change for a little while. It will enable me to look at the bigger picture, at the internationalisation of our solution and at bigger opportunities with partners and retailers.”

“The time is now right for me to do this,” he continues. “I need to work full-time on larger opportunities that will move the company to its next stage, and will result in greater reach for Cybertill and richer products that will directly benefit our customers.”

James Ward joined Cybertill in 2004. For the past four years, he has been finance director and company secretary for both Cybertill Limited and Cybertill Group Limited. In these roles, he has played a critical part in the corporate governance and development of Cybertill as a sound and profitable organisation.

“James has steered the company with great stewardship through a period of considerable growth,” states Ian Tomlinson. “He is a proven director with strong operational experience. I have every confidence in placing the day-to-day management of the business in his hands.”
